The wooden spools, original paper end labels, early department store branding, and wording such as “Pure Machine Silk” and “Mercerised Machine Twist” all support an early 20th-century date, circa 1900–1930. Harrods-branded sewing reels are far less commonly found than standard manufacturer reels and make an appealing addition to collections of antique haberdashery, department store memorabilia, sewing antiques and period shop displays. ConditionAll four reels retain thread and display the expected signs of age and use, including minor wear to the labels and wood.
