Designed for first-time builders, the kit consolidates the core components required for a functioning ecosystem pond into a single purchase, eliminating the guesswork of component selection. Everything Needed for a Self-Sustaining Backyard Pond Ecosystem ponds are self-regulating when properly set up: the pump circulates water through the biological filter, beneficial bacteria in the filter process fish waste, and aquatic plants absorb residual nutrients. The Aquascape DIY kit sets this system up from the start with compatible, correctly sized components. The EPDM liner is thick enough for long-term underground use, and the waterfall filter creates an attractive biological filtration outlet that looks natural within the garden setting. Specification Value Pond Size 1.2 m x 1.8 m (4 ft x 6 ft) Kit Contents EPDM pond liner, liner underlayment, submersible pump, biological waterfall filter, installation guide Liner Material EPDM (fish safe) Fish Safe Yes, safe for koi and goldfish How to Use Select a level site in partial shade with access to an outdoor electrical outlet. Excavate the pond shape approximately 60 cm (24 in) deep with a shallow shelf around the perimeter for marginal plants. Remove sharp stones and spread the underlayment evenly. Lay the EPDM liner and press it into the excavation, allowing generous overlap at the edges. Install the waterfall filter at the pond edge and connect the pump to the filter using the supplied discharge tubing. Fill with water, trim the liner with 30 cm (12 in) of overlap, and cover the edge with the excavated stone. Add plants and, after two weeks, fish. Ideal for home gardeners building their first backyard pond in a garden bed or lawn setting, wanting a complete ecosystem pond up to approximately 2,270 litres (600 gal).","image_url":"https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1076/9324/4755/files/aquascape-pond-kits-default-title-aquascape-diy-backyard-pond-kit-4-x-6-43287371645247.webp?v=1790197150","href":"/product/aquascape-diy-backyard-pond-kit-4-x-6.html","buy_url":"https://xyjpsn-3p.myshopify.com/products/aquascape-diy-backyard-pond-kit-4-x-6","buy_url_source":"shops.shop_domain + product.handle","seller_name":"xyjpsn-3p.myshopify.com","seller_url":"https://xyjpsn-3p.myshopify.com/","return_policy_url":"https://xyjpsn-3p.myshopify.com/policies/refund-policy","media":[{"url":"https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1076/9324/4755/files/aquascape-pond-kits-default-title-aquascape-diy-backyard-pond-kit-4-x-6-43287371645247.webp?v=1790197150","alt":null,"position":0}],"related":[{"handle":"aquascape-backyard-waterfall-landscape-fountain-kit","title":"Aquascape Backyard Waterfall Landscape Fountain Kit","category":"Pond Kits","price":"$1175.99","image_url":"https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1076/9324/4755/files/aquascape_backyard_waterfall_landscape_fountain_kit.jpg?v=1790199051","sku":"AQ-83013","href":"/product/aquascape-backyard-waterfall-landscape-fountain-kit.html"},{"handle":"aquascape-recreational-pond-kit-19-x-24-complete-with-everything-you-need-to-build-a-beautiful-recreation-swim-pond","title":"AQUASCAPE RECREATIONAL POND KIT - 19' X 24' - Complete with everything you need to build a beautiful recreation swim pond","category":"Pond Kits","price":"$23077.71","image_url":"https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1076/9324/4755/files/rec-pond-19x24-53074.jpg?v=1790198536","sku":"AQ-53074C","href":"/product/aquascape-recreational-pond-kit-19-x-24-complete-with-everything-you-need-to-build-a-beautiful-recreation-swim-pond.html"},{"handle":"aquascape-pro-medium-pondless-waterfall-kit-16-stream-tsurumi-pump-shipping-extra","title":"Aquascape PRO Medium Pondless Waterfall Kit - 16' Stream - Tsurumi Pump - Shipping Extra","category":"Pond Kits","price":"$2448.89","image_url":"https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1076/9324/4755/files/aquascape-pro-medium-pondless-kit-16-foot-stream_1.jpg?v=1790199781","sku":"AQ-53040","href":"/product/aquascape-pro-medium-pondless-waterfall-kit-16-stream-tsurumi-pump-shipping-extra.html"},{"handle":"aquascape-medium-deluxe-pondless-waterfall-kit-16-stream-with-aquasurge-2000-4000-adjustable-flow-pond-pump","title":"Aquascape Medium Deluxe Pondless Waterfall Kit 16' Stream With Aquasurge 2000-4000 Adjustable Flow Pond Pump","category":"Pond Kits","price":"$2855.34","image_url":"https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1076/9324/4755/files/aquascape-pond-kits-default-title-aquascape-medium-deluxe-pondless-waterfall-kit-16-stream-with-aquasurge-2000-4000-adjustable-flow-pond-pump-43287387373887.webp?v=1790197566","sku":"AQ-53068","href":"/product/aquascape-medium-deluxe-pondless-waterfall-kit-16-stream-with-aquasurge-2000-4000-adjustable-flow-pond-pump.html"}]}}
