It connects wirelessly to the TS4 devices across the solar array and connects to a Tigo Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) through an RS485 cable. For systems using TS4-A-O optimisers, the TAP is the required field communication component for module-level monitoring and module-level shutdown. It mounts directly to the solar-panel frame without tools, helping keep the installation neat and close to the optimisers it serves. The TAP uses a mesh network: TS4 devices relay communications through the array. Allow a maximum 10m between the TAP and the closest TS4, a maximum 10m between TS4 devices, and up to 35m from the TAP to the farthest TS4.
