Description (from PDP, plain text)
Antique Treen Wooden Butter Stamp Cow Bull Design Dairy Mould A charming small antique wooden butter stamp, carved with a cow design to the circular face. The design shows a cow standing among simple foliage, with a carved border around the edge. The stamp has a turned wooden handle and a lovely aged patina from use. It would originally have been used to press a decorative design into butter, but today makes a wonderful piece of country kitchenalia, dairy-related treen or folk art display. The cow motif gives this piece particularly strong dairy and farmhouse appeal, making it a lovely addition to a dresser, pantry display, treen collection or rustic kitchen interior. ConditionGood antique used condition with age-related wear, darkening, surface marks and signs of use throughout. The carved cow design remains clear and very decorative. There is a fine split/crack just visible across the carved face and a small old hole to the centre, along with general knocks and wear to the edges and handle, as shown. Displays very well. DimensionsH: 6.5 cm x D: 4 cm EraLate 19th to early 20th century, likely c.1880–1920.
