Controller Compatibility The 48V Express S4 uses a Curtis / E-Z-GO DC SepEx controller (1206HB/PDS family on early carts, the 48V PDS/SepEx and High Output families from 2014). The Fleet Lithium 51V pack is compatible with all of them — no reprogramming, no controller upgrade, no wiring changes. Aftermarket controllers should be verified separately. Will this fit my Express S4? Yes, on any 48V six-8V Express S4 or S4 HO from 2012 through 2019. No drilling or vehicle modification is expected with BR4480 and the Fleet lithium charger. Does it fit a 72V or ELiTE lithium Express? No. The 2020-and-later 72V lead-acid and factory ELiTE lithium Express models use a different architecture and are not covered by this kit. How long does installation take? 30–60 minutes with basic hand tools. Does it work in cold weather? Yes. The built-in heater activates automatically below 32°F — standard on every pack. *Range estimates are maximums under ideal conditions (flat terrain, single rider, 12–15 mph, 70°F).
