Mansfield Park – Jane Austen – 1908 Dent Edition Illustrated by C.E. Brock An original 1908 illustrated edition of Mansfield Park by Jane Austen, published by J.M. Dent & Co., London, with twenty-four colour illustrations by C.E. Brock. This edition forms part of Dent’s celebrated early 20th-century illustrated Austen series, known for its elegant Art Nouveau gilt cloth bindings and finely detailed decorative design. The pale green cloth cover features extensive gilt floral ornament and a central cartouche design, with gilt titling to the spine. Internally complete with colour plates by C.E. Brock, whose illustrations helped shape the classic visual identity of Austen’s characters. The decorative binding makes this an appealing display piece for period interiors, libraries, or prop styling. This example is best suited as a decorative antique copy, reading copy, or restoration project due to structural faults (see condition). ConditionFair antique condition. The spine is split and partially detached at one hinge, with lifting and fraying to the spine ends. General age-related wear, rubbing, and fading to the cloth binding.
